But the problem is that they are all laboratory-level studies, using extracts, enzymatic hydrolysates, and polysaccharides of specific molecular weights, observing effects in animal models or cell models. The concentration, purity, and molecular weight distribution of the active ingredients in an extract are completely different from what ends up in your stomach after a sea cucumber is digested and absorbed.
